Bentonville is a city in Benton County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 19,730 at the 2000 census. Preliminary results of a special census released in April 2006 show that the city's population has increased to 28,478 pending certification by the U.S. Census Bureau.

Bentonville is the county seat of Benton County6. The headquarters of Wal-Mart Stores, the largest retailer in the world, as well as that of The Whistler Group, a major US manufacturer of radar detectors, are located in Bentonville.

Due to Wal-Mart's presence, as well as the numerous local offices of companies seeking to have Wal-Mart sell their products, the city has gained the colloquial nickname Vendorville [1].
